SPRING 11 COLLECTION
Finally I have my initial Spring 2011 collection ready and spent some time yesterday shooting it for the website. I shot with both digital (as per usual) and polaroid and was blessed with one accidental double exposed shot that I'm using as the collections main image. I'll be shooting the product in more detail (including all colour options) asap and getting the online store ready for next week.
I'm also hoping to shoot again this February when we visit Mexico. While I like these images I am left with a sense of 'it's still cold out' and I can't wait to take images on a warm Mexican beach. Maybe with a real model!? That would be a welcome change!
Check it all out on scoutandcatalogue.com.

Love it! So happy to see that beautiful brown leather bag again. Photos look amazing.
So exciting! The photos came out great :)
oh, wow! I am definitely going to need one of the colored leather pouches. You are amazing, Bre!
Peeee esss I can't wait to get my greedy mitts on one of your lace pouches. Pouch perfection.
love it. looks so good!
The pictures are so fantastic, so excited to see them in the shop!
So cool! Are you bleach dying the leather? I've always wanted to try that but have been too scared :)
Julia - I've bleach dyed leather and made a HORRIBLE mess of it! This was actually 'damaged goods' at my leather store and they were about to cut it up for scraps when I rescued it. They have no idea how it got the way that it is and once this tiny piece is gone - it's gone...
soooo pumped!!
love, as always. happy to be gifted one of your pieces for xmas too!
I love your blog and you've inspired me to take a dyeing class. Coincidentally there are two being offered in my area (Brooklyn). One deals mainly with synthetic dyes, however (and is cheaper, and close to home) and the other only natural dyes (more expensive, on the other side of Brooklyn). Can you offer any advice? Do I really need to take a class, or can I learn this just as well from a book?
N
I think you can learn everything online but that courses give you shortcuts to good results. I learned everything through reading (for synthetics and then ignored 80% of it and just experimented) but really enjoyed my natural dyeing course. I felt like I had more confidence with natural dyes because of the class than if I had tried to do it myself.
As for which is better - personal preference. Synthetic dyes tend to be more colourful and sharp where natural dyes are softer and richer...
I love what you have shown! I ordered a little bag for a holiday gift for myself and love it. I can't wait to see what is next!
Gorgeous photos! Can't wait for the shop updates :)
